sontek_m9_lgThe SonTek RiverSurveyor M9 is well suited for three-dimensional lake current and bathymetric profiling applications.

The acoustic Doppler profiler combines four 3 MHz beams and four 1 MHz beams with automated frequency-hopping and precision bandwidth control to provide unprecedented shallow-to-deep (0-30 m) velocity measurement capabilities. Additionally, a 500 kHz vertical beam helps extend the depth measurement range to 80 meters.

With options for RTK (or differential) GPS, position data can be collected within ±3 cm accuracy, simplifying precision bathymetric mapping and current profiling.

Bluetooth connectivity provides a wireless link from the M9 to a laptop or smartphone. When users are within 200 m of the M9 with a laptop (or 60 m with a smartphone), bathymetric, GPS, and velocity data is transmitted and displayed graphically in real-time.

No user-defined algorithms are required to change cell sizes mid-measurement. On-board micro processing automates cell size adjustments based on water depth and processes all data independent of any other device. Plus, with 8 GB of internal memory, data is not lost even if telemetry is.

The M9 is easily operated by one person and never requires calibration. When towing the profiler onto the lake, it is recommended to use a Hydroboard or Riverboat Trimaran.

RiverSurveyor Live software is a customizable interface that includes a suite of post-processing options for advanced data analysis. Hydrological data is always conveniently summarized and displayed graphically. Numerical data is also easily exported to Excel or MATLAB for manual data reduction and processing.
